Scholarships Criteria and Process
St Xavier’s College, Jaipur offers Institutional as well as Government Scholarships for students of all disciplines taking admission in session 2022-23. Eligible students can avail both Central & State Governments’ Scholarships through the College portal. The Institutional Scholarships based on need and merit are given on the grounds of compassion and discretion to those students with a good academic performance and conduct along with the needed attendance (More than 75%). Scholarship and Fee Concession applications will be considered only after the second internal exams at the end of the session (Applicants need to clear both Internal Exams conducted by the College) and students should fulfil the required criteria for availing the same.
Merit-based scholarship Criteria
To avail the Admission Scholarship on the basis of merit, payment of first installment is
mandatory. Scholarships to the meritorious students will be considered only after the valid
proofs from concerned schools are submitted. Only top-scorers from each batch of a department
will be selected for this merit-based scholarship. The maximum number of students from each class
will depend upon the numerical strength of each class and it varies as mentioned in the table below.
They will be given 70%, 60%, 50%, 40%, and 30% reduction in the tuition fees respectively. The
final decision will be made by the College Management.
Good Academic performance:
Good Conduct in the College.
They should have maintained at least 75 % attendance in the academic year.
Only the top scoring students from each batch in every department will be selected for merit-based scholarship. The maximum number of students from each class varies as mentioned in the table below. They will be given 70%, 60%, 50%, 40%, and 30%, reduction in the college tuition fees respectively. The College Management reserves to itself all decisions which will be final and binding on all.
# For BA (Hons) senior students with non-practical/non-math subsidiaries, the cut off marks for eligibility is reduced by 3% from the above table.
** Cut off marks in the last qualifying exams is subject to change as per University Results.
Criteria for Need-based Scholarships
Need-based scholarships are given on the grounds of compassion and discretion of the Management.
It is open only to such students in need of economic assistance with the following conditions:
Good Academic performance.
Interested students need to clear both the Internal Exams of the session.
Good conduct in the College.
They should have maintained at least 75 % attendance in the academic year.
Have a family income less than INR 2.5 Lakh per annum* (income certificate proofs to be provided with application) (*minimum income slab as prescribed by Central Govt).
For Need-based Scholarships, concessions up to 50 % in Tuition Fees will be granted.
Being a Christian Minority Jesuit College, Christian/Catholic students are offered a concession of 50% in tuition fees along with an additional 25 % concession in Tuition Fees, provided, such candidates fulfill the above-mentioned conditions for the Need-based Scholarships. It is also mandatory for them to deposit the first installment of the fees. (Christian/Catholic students need to submit the valid Recommendation letter from Parish Priest/Bishops/Letter approved by Church).
Such candidates cannot avail the benefits of any other scholarship scheme if he/she obtains benefits from JXEA-scholarships.
Criteria for Sport Scholarships
1) International Players:
a) An international players will be given a scholarship at the time of admission, if he/she has represented India or played internationally in a team or individual game. Only the admission fees and alumni fees will be paid by the player at the time of admission. However, if he/she does not play at the international level in the second year, his/her scholarship will be reduced by 75%, and if this continues in the third year, only 50% will be reduced.
b) If the student’s performance improves or deteriorates, he or she will be awarded a scholarship based on performance.
2) National Players:
a) If a player is a national champion or runner-up, his/her 50% fee will be waived off at the time of admission, leaving only the admission and alumni fees to be paid. If the student does not continue to represent at the national level, only 25% of the fees will be waived off in the second year and if the student’s performance is below par in the third year, the student must pay the full fees for the third year.
b) If a player continues to play at the national level, his/her scholarship will be renewed; if his performance improves, the scholarship will be renewed, based on the improved performance.
c) If a student has national level participation at the time of admission, he or she will receive a 25% fee concession. If the student’s performance improves or deteriorates, he or she will be awarded a scholarship based on performance.
Important Guidelines for Players:
A) The player is obliged to notify the Head of the Department concerned as well as the Head of the Department of Physical Education. Attendance will be relaxed for all players with proper approval and information to the Head of the Department of Physical Education and the same permission should be received from the respective departmental HoDs.
B) For the second and third years of the scholarship, the student must always notify the Head of the Department of Physical Education about their performance/progress in their respective games. The student will not be considered for the scholarship in the second and third years, if the Head of the Department of Physical Education is unaware of the student’s performance. Students are reminded that they must always notify the Head of the Department of Physical Education of their accomplishments.
C) Students will receive additional medals and other perks at the annual prize distribution ceremony for their exceptional performances.
D) Sports certificates from the last two academic years are required and older certificates will not be accepted.
Note: If a student falls into more than one category, he/she can apply for only one scholarship.

Application Process for Merit Based Scholarship:
Students should fulfil the required criteria for availing the scholarships and all applications for scholarship/fee concession in hard copy should be submitted to the Class Mentors. The softcopy should be sent to: scholarship.sxcj@stxaviersjaipur.org by 30th November 2022.
Only duly-filled in application forms (Application form for fee concession for Merit-based Scholarship and
Affidavit for Non Receipt of Scholarship) received from class mentors within the due date will be considered for all scholarships. Late submissions will be rejected.
Class mentors will authenticate the Attendance and Internal Marks performance, which will be further verified by the respective HoD’s.
All Scholarship Applications of the Department are to be forwarded to Scholarship Committee for further approval from the Management.
Application Process for Need-based Scholarships
All students seeking financial aid/scholarship from the College will have to undergo the process of filling up the application form which should be duly signed by their parents and submitted to the Coordinator of the Scholarship Committee. The Applications will be sent to Fr Vice-principal for scrutiny and for final approval by Fr Principal.
Only duly-filled in application forms along with Application form for need based scholarship ( fee concession ) and Affidavit for Non Receipt of Scholarship, submitted within the due date will be considered, provided all the relevant details, certificates, and documents required are also attached to the application.
Application Process for Sports-based Scholarship
All students seeking financial aid/scholarship from the College will have to fill up of the application form which should be duly signed by their parents and submitted to the Coordinator of the Sports Committee.
The Coordinator of the Sports Committee will take necessary validation from respective class mentors and HODs and submit the forms to the Coordinator of the Scholarship Committee. These applications will be scrutinised by Fr Vice-principal and submitted to Fr Principal for final approval.
Only duly-filled in application forms along with form Application form for need based scholarship ( fee concession ) and Affidavit for Non Receipt of Scholarship , received within the due date will be considered, provided all relevant details, certificates, and documents required are also attached to the applications.
